Install / compatibility notes
Electrical. The kit is 12V only. Vixen rates the compressor at 23 A and supplies a 30 A waterproof inline fuse with pre-terminated wiring; the 120–150 PSI pressure switch cycles the compressor automatically. Run the compressor feed straight from the battery with appropriately sized wire, and treat the horn button as a low-current trigger for the 12V solenoid. Tank and compressor placement. The tank is 20 inches long, 10-1/2 inches tall on its feet and 8-1/2 inches in diameter, and it should sit with the wing-style drain valve at the lowest point so you can dump condensation. The compressor’s intake filter belongs somewhere dry; the vibration-isolated mounting plates and 1/4” NPT braided leader hose let you mount it a short distance from the tank. Plug any unused ports with the supplied hex plugs.
Plumbing. The fitting list only makes sense once you see the layout: the 1/2” NPT solenoid feeds a 1/2” hose from one of the tank’s two 1/2” NPT ports, the 1/2” cross and two tees split that into five outputs, and 3/8” lines run from the tees to the five trumpets through the 1/4” NPT push-to-connect fittings at each metal base. Keeping the 1/2” main line short and the five 3/8” runs roughly equal in length helps the trumpets fire together. The 6-foot 1/4” line and compression fitting are for the gauge and any accessory tap. Trumpet placement. Mount each trumpet bell-down or bell-forward so water drains, and keep the longest 17-3/8-inch trumpet in mind when measuring bumper cavities. Keeping all five within a few feet of the distribution cross avoids one trumpet lagging.
